Article in the Vancouver Sun

Note that the caption under the photo mistakenly states

"BBC Broadcasting Inc. failed to mention Canadians living

as close as a kilometre and a half away."

The fact is the closest Canadians live two blocks away from the

proposed radio towers site.  We thank the Vancouver Sun for publishing this article and only wish to clarify this point.

Many thanks to those who participated in the

meeting on 23 October 2013 in Tsawwassen.

Here is a link to an article in The Province about the meeting.

Note that the article states there were around 200 people in attendance.

The actual number was over 400.

Demonstration, anyone?

During the wonderful Town Hall meeting last week in Delta, I had a chance to speak with many of our neighbors (both north and south of the border) about the Radio Towers and what it meant to them and their families.  I’d like to add here how encouraged I was to witness their concern / outrage and willingness to do something to bring more attention to this cause.

Surprisingly, many Canadians independently said they wanted to see a demonstration on both sides of the street lining 56th near the border.

Also mentioned was the idea of Point Roberts neighbors doing like-wise along Tyee on the same day and at the same time.  Again, we would invite television news crews to come and cover the demonstration.

Is this a good idea who’s time has come?  Can we get 200 neighbors on each side to come out?  How many residents can we deliver?

I’d like to hear back from folks on both sides of the border as to whether or not this is doable, or even worthwhile. Please contact me as soon as possible at [email protected]

As for some date ideas: 17 November and 1 December, both Sundays.  I skipped the November 24th Sunday because it’s a day before the American Thanksgiving holiday weekend and don’t know if that’s a good idea or not.  I need feedback on dates and ideas.

Remember the Whatcom County Hearing on this matter will take place between 6 weeks or 2 months.

Let’s make some noise and focus attention on this.
